Hair

A few days ago I mentioned to Carson that Helen's hair was starting to stick up in the mornings and we were going to have to start brushing it soon. This evening when Carson got Helen out of the bath he brushed her hair... Not quite what I had in mind.

Hat

Helen has a fascination with pulling her hat over her face. The best hat to do this with is her favorite hat, the one that her Aunt Jessica knitted for her.

Updates

It's official, Helen is a crawler. She started crawling while we were in Oklahoma and is all over the place now. All day all she wanted was to go into the living room. She wasn't allowed in it until I had cleaned up all our Christmas stuff so after her afternoon nap it was time and I let her in the living room and she crawled right back into her play area. I think the living room was only appealing because there was a gate that was keeping her out.

This evening Carson went into the bathroom and closed the door while he was getting Helen's bath water ready. Helen was playing with a toy and as soon as she heard the bath water running she crawled right to the bathroom door. I told her to knock but apparently she thought I should do it for her so I did:) I opened the door and in she went right to her daddy so she could take her bath!

She has also started eating some table foods. So far she has had carrots (she tolerates them), sweet potatoes (she likes it), yogurt (loves it), toast (loves it), green beans (hates it), mashed potatoes (hates it so much she threw up).

She got her first ear infection but is doing better. She loves that antibiotic. She does still have a horrible cold and cough. Her cough wakes her up sometimes when she is sleeping and she whines for a couple of minutes and goes back to sleep, it's sad.

She is babbling A LOT! She was great flying home, on our second flight she talked almost none stop very loudly. it was better than crying but it sure was loud. I told her that I loved to hear her songs and stories but that not everyone on the plane wanted to hear them. She apparently thought what she had to say was important enough for everyone to hear.

She is about 19 lbs and 29 inches long.
