Just like Daddy (and Lola)
One of Helen's favorite books is "Lola at the Library." It is one of the few she will let me read all the way through to her before she takes it away and reads it to herself. On the third page of the book Lola is getting ready to go to the library by putting all her books she needs to return into her backpack. Helen, who has been fascinated by Carson's backpack, almost went crazy when she saw it. She pointed to Lola's backpack and then to Carson's study and then to Lola's backpack again. Over and over she did this. I realized then that I had seen a backpack in my closet that Angela had given to Helen for Christmas last year so we went and got the backpack. Helen took it straight over to her books and started filling it up just like Lola and Daddy do. Once she put a couple of books in she wanted to put it on and show her daddy. She left the backpack on for about an hour and only took it off when I told her she needed to if she wanted to sit in the rocking chair and read a story. Once she got down from the chair she put it right back on.
